Privacy Policy

1. Who we are

Gilabs builds consumer apps, including Super (meal planning and grocery lists). Gilabs is run by Alex Gilabert from Spain and is responsible for the personal information described in this policy.

2. Information we collect

Account details: your email address and, if you sign in with Apple or Google, the name and email they share with us.

What you tell the app: your country, preferred grocery store, household size, weekly budget, meals per day, food styles, diets, allergies and foods to avoid, and the kitchen appliances you have. Allergies and diets are used only to filter recipes.

What you do in the app: your meal plans, shopping lists, saved and rejected recipes, and usage events (for example, which screens you open). These help us fix problems and improve the app.

Subscriptions: whether you have an active subscription or free trial. Payments are handled by Apple or Google; we never see your card details.

Device: a push notification token if you allow notifications, and on iPhone, the advertising identifier only if you allow tracking when the app asks.

3. How we use it

To create your weekly meal plan and shopping list with prices from your store, keep your account in sync across devices, send the reminders you turned on, provide support, keep the service secure, and understand how the app is used so we can improve it.

If you allow tracking on iPhone, we share app install and subscription events with TikTok to measure our ads. You can change this at any time in Settings > Privacy & Security > Tracking.

We do not sell your personal information.

4. Consent

By creating an account and using Super, you consent to the collection and use of your information as described here. You can withdraw your consent at any time by deleting your account (in the app, or as explained at gilabs.net/delete-account) or by contacting us. Some features may stop working without the information they need.

5. Service providers and where your data is stored

We use trusted providers to run Super: Supabase (database and sign-in), RevenueCat (subscription status), Apple and Google (sign-in, payments, push notifications and app distribution), Resend (email) and TikTok (ad measurement, only with your permission).

Your information is stored on servers in Ireland (European Union), and some providers process it in the United States. This means it is stored and processed outside Canada and outside Quebec, and it may be accessible to courts and authorities in those countries. We only work with providers that protect personal information with contracts and security measures comparable to those required in Canada.

6. Security

We use industry-standard safeguards, including encryption in transit and access controls, to protect your information from loss and unauthorized access. If a breach creates a real risk of significant harm, we will notify you and the relevant authorities as required by law.

7. How long we keep it

We keep your information while your account is active. When you delete your account, we delete your personal information within 30 days, except where we must keep it longer by law (for example, for tax records).

8. Your rights

You can ask to access the personal information we hold about you, correct it, receive a copy in a structured, commonly used format, or have it deleted. You can also withdraw your consent at any time. We will reply within 30 days. Email us at alex@gilabs.net.

9. Canada and Quebec

For users in Canada, we handle personal information in accordance with the Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act (PIPEDA) and, for users in Quebec, the Act respecting the protection of personal information in the private sector (Law 25).

Person in charge of the protection of personal information: Alex Gilabert, alex@gilabs.net.

If you are not satisfied with our response, you can file a complaint with the Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada (priv.gc.ca) or, in Quebec, with the Commission d'accès à l'information du Québec (cai.gouv.qc.ca).

10. Children

Super is not intended for children under 16, and we do not knowingly collect their personal information.

11. Cookies

This website may use cookies to improve your experience. You can turn them off in your browser settings, although some features may not work as intended.

12. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. The date at the top shows when it was last revised, and we will let you know in the app or by email about any significant changes.

13. Contact

For any privacy question or to exercise your rights, email alex@gilabs.net.
